WE GOT OUR Premiership campaign well back on track with the wins over Portsmouth and Fulham. We have been a bit up and down in the league this season but, if we get a couple more good results, we will be right back up there. If we get a win on Saturday against Southampton it will make it a great week for us - two wins in the Premiership and through the the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Without a doubt, if we can put another good run of results together, we can really push on and enjoy a strong finish to the season. We are on the fringes of Europe at the moment - just three points off it with a game in hand. If you look at the fixtures coming up, with no disrespect to our opponents, we fancy winning our next four of five games.
WE ARE ALL very confident at the moment, we've got a good strong squad and the gaffer made a few changes against Nottingham Forest in midweek. Still we showed quality, never looked in danger and, as the gaffer said, it was a professional performance.
The defence was changed about in front of me, but I thought Noe Pamarot was Man of the Match - he had a great game. As long as they do their job and the ball doesn't get to me, I don't care who stands in front of me! I'll shout at anyone...
WE PLAY SOUTHAMPTON next and people say it is not a good time to play them. The way we're playing though, they won't fancy us going there at the moment. They need to win and we are one of the last teams they will want to play.
Saints look sharp up front with Crouch, Phillips and Camara, but we are confident of taking something from the game.
NEWCASTLE IS COMING up in the FA Cup and, even though it is a tough draw, we have been there and won this season. You won't get an easy game in the quarter finals, they are getting back on track after mis-firing a bit this campaign. We are very hopeful of getting through to the semi-finals.
I GOT THE chance to visit the new Wembley last week and it is very impressive. I had seen a little bit of it on telly, but it is absolutely massive when you see it first hand. Wembley is steeped in history and to see it all be recreated in such a fashion is awesome. If I keep my England place it will be my second home - so fingers crossed!
