ROBBO'S CALL

Paul Robinson has called on our travelling support to drive us on to victory on Sunday in our FA Cup quarter-final encounter at Chelsea just like they did during Thursday’s UEFA Cup round of sixteen 1st leg against Braga. It was another late goal that sealed victory in Portugal, following last ditch wins at Everton and West Ham recently and Robbo hopes we can give our fans something else to cheer about at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

“I wouldn't fancy being a Spurs fan at the moment because if you've got heart problems you're in trouble,” he joked.

“It was a good performance against Braga and we were the better team. The penalty gave them a lift and once they came back into it with another goal we showed our character and spirit again by scoring in injury time.

“Three away goals is fantastic and it gives us a great platform at home. Hopefully we can now go and put in a good performance at White Hart Lane and win.

“I have to give a mention to our fans who travelled in their thousands. It was fantastic and we rewarded them with another good game. I know they will all be there again for us on Sunday.

“We will go to Chelsea as the underdogs, which doesn’t happen a lot these days, but it’s an FA Cup quarter-final and I am hopeful we can put in a performance like we have done in the past two or three weeks and get something out of the game.”

Victory over Braga extended our run of wins to five in all competitions and England’s number one believes an encounter with the reigning Premier League champions will be a true indicator of how far we have come in recent weeks.

“It is a massive game and a good test for us at the moment. We have come a long a way in the last two or three weeks and Chelsea will be a benchmark for us to see how far we have actually come over this period.

“Four or five weeks ago people were writing us off saying it's been a disappointing season but we reached the semi-final of the Carling Cup, we are in the quarter-final of the FA Cup, hopefully we can go on to make the quarter-final of the UEFA Cup and we are just a point off sixth position in the Premier League. Now if that is a bad season I would like to have that every year!

“There are not many teams that have won at Chelsea so it is a massive test and our games at Stamford Bridge have been close and hopefully it will be close again.”
