Paul Robinson admits the performance of the team fell away on Crystal Palace taking the lead on Saturday and expects a positive reaction against West Brom next time out.
Mikele Leigertwood's opener on 66 minutes opened the gates for the home side and, within 11 minutes, they were three goals ahead following a Danny Granville strike and an Andy Johnson penalty.
"In the first half we did alright and played quite well," reflected the goalkeeper. "In the second I thought we would step it up a bit, but conceded a goal and crumbled from there.
"We didn't show enough of our usual backbone or resillience and they deserved it in the end. It is our worst defeat and worst performance, we've not played as badly this season and hopefully we won't again.
"It is one of those games you've got to put away now and get on with the rest of the season. Every team will get beaten heavily once and this is ours - we'll get on with it now."
Next on the fixture list is the FA Cup 4th round trip to the Hawthorns on Saturday.
"We've got a break from the league now with the FA Cup next week, which is important to us," added Paul. "We want to start winning trophies and are looking forward to it."
