Robbie's welcome break

Posted on 6 March 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Robbie Keane reports that the training trip to Dubai last weekend brought great benefit in terms of forging further team spirit.

The squad spent four days at a warm weather training resort and Robbie reasoned that having the boys all together for a prolonged period was a bonus - both work-wise and socially.

"It was a nice little break," he said back at Spurs Lodge. "It is good to get away, get some good bonding going and team spirit with the lads.

"I think it has done us a lot of favours, the lads were together all the time. It was good trip and everyone enjoyed it.

"We were training over there as well and that was good too."

The team are now preparing for the Middlesbrough game next Tuesday - the first game since February 22 - and Robbie feels the trip was timely given the fixture gap.

"When you are back here, training nearly every day for two and a half weeks without a game, it is completely different.

"We had the chance to get away together and it worked out well with training in the sun, which was nice."
