Robbie Keane finished top of the goalscoring charts in the Premier League in 2007.
Even though he failed to add to his tally against Reading on Saturday, Robbie's 19 goals this calendar year was one more than Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in his side's 2-1 defeat at West Ham but, like Robbie, missed a penalty.
Benni McCarthy was third on 15 goals with Yakubu, Carlos Tevez and Nicolas Anelka all scoring14.
"I'm delighted with that," beamed Robbie on hearing the news. "I’ve been lucky in the last three seasons to score a lot of goals.
"It’s just about playing regularly. I’ve been fortunate to play every week and as a striker, that’s important, that momentum. I’ve seen the benefit of that and I want it to continue."
