After the setback of falling behind after just 13 minutes, the team responded in the perfect manner and a thumping drive by Dimitar Berbatov levelled matters moments later and a 3-1 scoreline was eventually recorded in a competition that certainly appears to be to the liking of the players.
"It has been great and it was a fine win for us," said a happy Robbie after the game. "We played some good football and ended up going behind before we showed the attitude and character to come back and win."
Our second goal of the night featured a superb combination between Dimitar and Robbie, with the Bulgarian switching play from one side to the other with a hooked throughball for the vice-captain to race in and fire the ball low into the net.
"It was obviously nice to score," added Robbie. "It was an excellent ball from Dimitar and the second I saw him I knew exactly what he was going to do as two weeks ago I did the exact same for him against Besiktas.
"Luckily enough for me it went in and then we got the third goal. We settled down and played some really good football.
"There is a lot of confidence going through the side and we are looking forward now to a massive game on Sunday against Chelsea. We have to believe we can win that."
Robbie Keane was thrilled with the performance-level of the side against Club Brugge.
