It was the striker's first goal since December 29, his 11th of the campaign and most importantly, clinched a vital victory in the Premier League.
It was a fine strike as well as Andros Townsend led a break before finding Emmanuel Adebayor, who rolled the perfect pass into his strike partner to finish in style.
"We’re delighted for Roberto and you could see that with how all the lads celebrated with him," said Head Coach Tim.
"It was a great break from Andros, he took it upfield very quickly, rolled it to Ade and he didn’t put it on a plate, because Roberto still had a lot to do, he took it in his stride and instinctively rolled it past the goalkeeper, fantastic for him and the team.
"If I could have chosen any goalscorer, it would have been him."
Skipper Michael Dawson said: "Robbie hasn’t changed. He scored a few goals early on and he knows he’s judged on scoring goals. He knows what it’s all about.
"The more goals he scores the better he’s going to be. He’s a top player and we’ve got to be patient. He's a top guy."
Mousa Dembele added: "Everyone knows he’s a very good player and it’s a shame he hasn’t scored more, but he has so much quality. The luck hasn’t been on his side but that was perfect." He’s important for us but people always react to the goals. It’s all about goals for a striker.
Sandro said: "Roberto deserved it and now the goals will come more naturally. He’s a brilliant goalscorer. Everyone knows how much Roberto wanted to score so everyone is happy for him."
And finally, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said: "All the players are very happy for him. I think it’s important for his confidence. It’s not been easy but he works hard and when you work there is always a good result for you."
