Robbie seeks repeat performance

Posted on 8 April 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Robbie Keane is hoping to get back on the goal trail when we visit Everton on Friday - a team he has enjoyed considerable success against in the recent past.

The livewire striker had yet to join the last time we travelled to Goodison Park to take on David Moyes' side on the opening day of last season. He made up for lost time when the Blues came to the Lane in January of last year, recording a hat-trick in a memorable 4-3 win.

Robbie backed this up in October when he netted our third in the 3-0 home win - a game mostly remembered for Fredi Kanoute's stunning dipping volley that opened the scoring two minutes before the break.

So it's Everton again on Friday and Robbie is naturally slightly coy about making it three in a row.

"It is one of those things, if I do score again - if selected - it will be great," he pondered, adding that the Merseymen always provide tough opposition, especially when both teams are seeking to break back into the top half of the table.

"They are not an easy team to play against, Everton are one of those teams that are always tough and they work hard for each other. They have got strong players in the squad and no way is going to be an easy game.

"They are a good side, they are fighting at the moment just below us and need the points as much as we do. We don't want to get sucked back into that little battle down the bottom and it will be a tough game for us."
