Those at the Lane were gripped and very appreciative of the style of performance, certainly in the first 65-70 minutes as the team cruised into a 3-0 lead with two goals from Jermain Defoe and one from Jermaine Jenas, before Charlton's one in reply.
"They do respond and we can hear it on the pitch," said the striker on the crowd reaction. "The atmosphere seemed to be good and everyone seemed to be happy. The tradition of Tottenham teams is to play nice football and score goals and I think we reflected that on Sunday.
"It was brilliant. First and foremost it was great to get the three points, but the manner we played in must have been pleasing for the fans to watch as well.
"For 70 minutes, the way we kept the ball, our movement and passing was superb. Obviously the last 20 minutes was not so good, but you get that in games and are not going to dominate for 90 minutes. Take nothing away from Charlton, they are a good side and last year when we played them they beat us 3-2 at home.
"So it was important that we got a good result against them and that's what we did."
Robbie Keane says the players picked up on the buzz in crowd during the win over Charlton on Sunday.
