Robbie Keane wore the captain's armband as he earned his 80th cap for the Republic of Ireland in a friendly against Serbia at Croke Park.

The 1-1 draw was also Giovanni Trapattoni's first game in charge of the team, but it could so easily have ended in defeat had Wolves striker Andy Keogh not struck a late equaliser.

Robbie himself had an effort cleared off the line in the first half before Marko Pantelic so nearly won it for the visitors with a goal 15 minutes from time.

But Keogh's dramatic injury time volley gives Robbie and the team confidence going into Thursday's friendly with Colombia at Craven Cottage.

Didier Zokora was also in international action on Saturday as the Ivory Coast played their final game of the three-team Kirin Cup against hosts Japan.

But despite Didier's best efforts, it ended in a 1-0 defeat for Les Elephants, with Keiji Tamada scoring the only goal of the game.
