ROB TO HIT 250

Robbie Keane says it's a privilege to reach the 250-appearance mark for the club.

Our vice-captain will hit that mark if he features against Middlesbrough in the Barclays Premier League clash at the Lane on Saturday.

Robbie, 27, joined us from Leeds United back in August, 2002. “I’ve always said from day one that this was the place I wanted to be and it was a club going in the right direction, a club going places,” he reflected. “I wanted to be part of that and I want to continue to be part of it for as long as I can.

“I’m more than at home here and everyone here makes me feel so welcome. As long as I have that I’ll always feel part of the club.”

Robbie, who became only the 15th Spurs player to score 100 goals for the club back in January, is chasing another milestone – one more goal will secure his highest-ever seasonal tally. He’s currently on 22, matching last season’s total and the same mark as strike partner Dimitar Berbatov.

“There’s been a few landmarks this season – 100 goals, 250 games, personally it’s been a fantastic season for me and winning the Carling Cup capped it off. I’ve really enjoyed it. I just need one more to beat last season and hopefully I’ll do it sooner rather than later.”

Look out for an interview with Robbie on Spurs TV Online soon - PLUS - he's the main interview in Saturday's matchday programme...
