It may have been the return of the boy who done good to Dulwich Hamlet - but Yannick Kamanan stole the show at Champion Hill Stadium on Saturday.
Dave McEwen, right, was back on his old stamping ground after leaving the Ryman League for the Premiership and a glamour move to White Hart Lane in January.
Unfortunately, unlike Les Ferdinand at QPR, McEwen failed to hit the net against his former club, but youngster Kamanan did so twice in the 3-1 win.
He had the first and last words by opening the scoring and then claiming our third goal, much to the delight of boss Chris Hughton: "Yannick's display was a huge bonus," he said.
"It's only the second time he's played for us in pre-season and it was nice for him to score twice. They were good goals as well."
Kamanan struck home the first from 15 yards after 20 minutes following some fine interplay with Neale Fenn. After we dominated possession, a defensive error let in the home side to level just before the break.
John Piercy, on as substitute at half-time, restored our advantage just after the hour with an excellent individual goal, cutting in from the right and beating all before him before slotting home.
Ian Hillier then released Kamanan to finish a one-on-one in the 70th minute to wrap up the victory. "It was another good performance, plenty of possession and perhaps a little frustrating not to turn that possession into more goals," added Hughton.
"There were plenty of positives again though and the good thing about this group of lads is that they've been able to play regularly together. That is likely to change once the season starts and more first-team players become involved."
Kingstonian are next for the reserves at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Wednesday.
Spurs: Kelly, Consorti (Piercy), Thelwell, Gardner, Hillier, Fox, Fenn, Jackson, Etherington, Kamanan (Doherty), McEwen (Kamanan). Doherty replaced Kamanan, who then came back on for McEwen.
