Winger Wayne - back from a broken foot sustained on the season's opening day at Portsmouth - looked lively in his 45-minute stint as we took control of this FA Premier Reserve League encounter in the first half.
Defender Anthony - returning from rupturing his thigh muscle at Aston Villa on September 17 - played for an hour before being replaced by Leigh Mills.
Andy Reid put the issue beyond doubt with the third after 67 minutes before substitute Andy Barcham rounded off the evening with two goals in the final 10 minutes.
The first half was uncannily similar to our last home reserve outing against Leicester City - a game we somehow lost 1-0 - but this time we had the goals to show for a dominant display.
Barnard again got the ball rolling with a fine opener after 10 minutes. He was far from favourite to reach Grzegorz Rasiak's flick but met the ball at the same time as two Palace defenders and came out of that three-way challenge with the ball at his feet. He took another touch to steady himself before firing low past Julian Speroni.
Tommy Black and Charlie Daniels shot wide at either end before Barnard's second, this time from the penalty spot after Ryan Hall clipped Noe Pamarot's ankle in the box.
Radek Cerny made an important save one-on-one to deny Lewis Grabban before a late flurry of action around the Palace goal. Routledge was heavily involved in the moves as Daniels and McKenna forced fine saves from Speroni and, in added time, Barnard uncharacteristically screwed a volley wide unmarked six yards out.
We started the second half on the front foot again - Gardner should have made it 3-0 from Reid's free-kick - but Palace fired a warning by creating the next three chances.
Grabban thought he'd pulled his side back into it when he dinked over Cerny only for Pamarot to clear off the line and the keeper was soon darting out again, this time to meet Aki Riihilahti, who poked the ball inches wide.
Hall was next just after the hour but Cerny read his intentions like a book to avert the danger.
Momentum turned back in our favour after 67 minutes. Speroni produced the most spectacular save of the night to pull down Reid's lob but seconds later the ball was in the back of the net - the keeper rolled the ball out to clear, struck against Reid and it rebounded into the empty net.
Barcham then bagged his first and second reserve goals after coming on as substitute. With 83 minutes on the clock he controlled O'Hara deep cross and drilled the ball into the corner and he went one better after that to make it 5-0 - skipping through the tackles on a run in from the right before firing with his left foot back across Speroni, an apt finale.
Lee Barnard maintained his form in front of goal with two goals as we led 2-0 at half-time
