Just one point separates the teams in second and third with Clive's lads currently second and unbeaten after eight games. That unbeaten run stretches back almost a year now to February 21, 2006, at Southampton, a run of 16 matches. Indeed, we've lost just one of our last 26 league encounters.
It could be a defining month in terms of the lads defending their title with key clashes against first Chelsea and then a trip to old rivals Arsenal on January 22.
"We've two fabulous games coming up now, setting us up for the rest of the season," said Clive. "The lads are in really good shape. These two games will be of the highest quality, the lads know that and I can sense the anticipation waiting for them, starting with Chelsea."
