Reserves head east

Posted on 24 April 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Theo Foley's reserve side head to West Ham on Tuesday night for an FA Premier Reserve League encounter.

Once again, Theo is forced to rely on youngsters who have graduated from the Academy sides due to the first team squad being so thin on numbers. This is not uncommon among reserve sides at this stage of the season and playing at a higher level offers valuable experience to the fledgling players.

Theo is boosted by the return of striker Dave McEwen, who suffered a facial injury in the game against Nottingham Forest at the Lane two weeks ago. He will partner Stevie Ferguson, the 19-year-old Scot who has scored three goals in his last two reserve outings and been an unused substitute for the last two first team games.

Lee Barnard makes his full debut alongside first team fringe players Matthew Etherington, Ian Hillier and Ciaran Toner.

Gavin Kelly replaces Ian Walker in goal.

Team: G Kelly, Consorti, Lacy, Toner, Hillier, Henry, Barnard, Marney, Ferguson, McEwen, Etherington. Subs: Quilter, Burch, S Kelly, Snee, Vedeux.
