The 29-year-old will be between the sticks for the FA Premier Reserve League encounter against Derby County.
Chris Hughton has selected a young side although there are still five first team squad regulars on show in Walker, Matthew Etherington, Willem Korsten, Alton Thelwell and Anthony Gardner.
At the other end of the scale Mauricio Consorti makes his debut and Ben Bowditch plays his second game at this level.
Boss Chris said: "We've got a young side out. We have four players missing from that very poor team performance at Southampton last week, but the big plus is that they are all young players away on international duty. It also gives other young lads an opportunity at this level.
"Ben Bowditch will play, he did okay last week, Mauricio Consorti will make his debut, Steven Ferguson, who hasn't really featured and Neil Lacy, who is a young lad that is being released and this is an opportunity to get a game and if does well and someone is watching it could be good for him.
"Walker, Thelwell, Gardner, Etherington, McEwen, Korsten will all play. We've had to shift a few players around but the fact the game is going ahead is a plus and it gives us the chance to get straight back into it after last week's disappointing loss."
Chris is expecting a tough time from a Rams outfit that beat us 3-0 at Pride Park back in November but he is more concerned about erasing the memory of last week's 7-0 drubbing at the Dell..
He added: "They are a very, very good side Derby and they've had strong sides out all season.
"It's a game I want to win but the most important thing is the performance and seeing a reaction from last week. If I get that reaction then I'll be delighted, regardless of the result."
Starting line-up: Walker, Bowditch, Lacy, Consorti, Thelwell, Gardner, Piercy, McEwen, Ferguson, Korsten, Etherington. Subs: Kamanan, Kelly, O'Donoghue, Jonsson, Barnard.
Ian Walker will be the elder statesman when the reserves return to the Lane tonight (Tuesday, 7pm).
