Our reserve team was inches away from victory in a competitive training ground friendly against Ipswich Town on Tuesday.

Our reserve team was inches away from victory in a competitive training ground friendly against Ipswich Town on Tuesday.
Young midfielder Dean Parrett burst through onto Joe Martin's pass with two minutes left and the scoreline at 1-1, managed to lift the ball over keeper Shane Supple only to see it come back off the crossbar.

So it ended 1-1 at the Lodge as our youngsters performed well against an Ipswich side boasting seven players with first team experience including the likes of Welsh international Gavin Williams, Dean Bowditch and Canadian regular Jaime Peters.

Simon Dawkins struck the woodwork in the first half, Alex Olsen was denied by Supple on the hour and then Ipswich took the lead as Jordan Rhodes finished well from 12 yards after 71 minutes.

We hit back after 79 minutes when David Hutton sent Danny Rose through on goal and the winger skipped around Supple before sliding home from the angle.

Parrett almost capped an impressive second half display with that late winner but a draw was about right.

Spurs: Forecast (L Butcher, 46), Riley (Casey, 46), Archibald-Henville, Martin, Hughton, Davis (Hutton, 46), Livermore (Parrett, 46), Maghoma, Rose, Olsen, Dawkins.
