Clive reported: “There is an opportunity for a number of the lads to get a run of games together, the Academy boys are in the group and when a game like West Ham at Upton Park comes around, it’s great to see them involved.
“We’ve a couple of senior players involved as well and it will be good for them as they try to top up their match fitness.”
The lads have made a positive start to their Barclays Premier League South campaign and remain unbeaten after four games, drawing three.
However, Clive admitted it could be better. “I’m pleased with our performances and the only disappointment has been results and converting chances created into goals. We’ve worked hard on that.
“I’m pleased with us defensively and we’re looking to progress, we’re looking for results but as I’ve always stressed, we’re also looking for good performances.
“West Ham have started with a win, draw and loss. They’ve changed their side around and there have been occasions when they’ve fielded a very strong side and that’s something Alan Curbishley always did at Charlton, play his senior players when they are not involved in the first team and I’d expect him to adopt the same policy at West Ham.”
