Clive Allen offers his assessment on the individual progress made by those in his Reserve Team group over the course of season 2006-07...Tommy Forecast (2 appearances)
Tom worked really well all season and I think he has made good progress. He does a lot of work with Hans and the other goalkeepers, he's had to wait for his chance and has been very level headed about the whole situation. He realises the position he is in and, although there is a lack of opportunity with games, the work he does in training has seen him improve and I feel he has had a good season in terms of his development. You can wait for goalkeepers, they do improve with age and experience and Tommy is an example of that.

Kyle Fraser-Allen (1 appearance / 2 sub)
Kyle stepped up and had some involvement with the group. It has been a case of him establishing himself in the Academy, but what happened for a number of the young ones is that they have been given a chance with the reserve group perhaps earlier than they would have had in other seasons. We've drawn on the boys who are doing well in the Academy because of the non-availability of players from the first team squad. It is a big incentive for the young lads.

Emil Hallfredsson (6 appearances, 1 goal)
Emil was away on loan before coming back from Malmo and making a number of appearances. He gave his best in terms of producing in reserve team games, while the whole experience of going out on loan was a good one for him. He was playing regular first team football in Sweden, which was good for him, so it must be difficult when players come back after that. He was good within the group and I think next season will be an interesting one for him whether he goes away on loan again or stays here.

Cian Hughton (4 appearances / 3 sub)
Cian was very consistent at Academy level and was playing regularly there. Again, because of opportunities created by the number of first team games, he stepped up and got involved with the reserves. He had a couple of very good games against difficult opposition in what was a big step up for him and I thought, as the season went on with a number of the boys, they were able to cope with it.

Danny Hutchins (1 appearance / 2 sub)
He was involved with the group, certainly for the latter stages of the season, and when he was called upon I was pleased with him - as I was with a number of the young boys who stepped into the fray and showed what they are capable of. One thing I emphasised to all of them is that they should come in with no fear, I wanted them to show what they've got to offer and they did that with the right attitude and right approach.
