Clive Allen offers his assessment on the individual progress made by those in his Reserve Team group over the course of season 2006-07...
David Hutton
(5 appearances / 2 sub)
David had a good season, he was consistent in his Academy games, merited his opportunity and when he came into the reserve team he had a couple of outstanding games, showed he wanted to play and is capable of it. He gave a good account of himself.

Phil Ifil (17 appearances)
Phil, I think you would say, was one of the more experienced players in the group. He handled that very well, he was a good example and was consistent in his performances. That also saw him step into the First Team squad and play a couple of games. He deserved that for his displays throughout the season and his approach to it. He has matured and is very level-headed about the whole thing - stepping into the senior games was no problem to him. He had a good season.

Charlie Lee (15 appearances, 2 goals)
Charlie captained the side and he matured over the season into being a captain, the type of player you want to lead the team. A fierce competitor who, for me, had a good season. He's obviously now moved on and will get a lot of games at league level having now signed for Peterborough. Charlie went with my best wishes and congratulations for the way he worked day in, day out to improve and establish himself as a professional footballer. I think he will do that and reach a high level.

Jake Livermore (8 appearances / 5 sub, 1 goal)
I think Jake was a good example of an Academy player stepping up to the next level and showing that he is capable. He had no fear, he came into the group and was very strong. Jake is strong physically and I think he'll go from strength to strength with his experiences from the season.

Jacques Maghoma (5 appearances, 1 goal)
It was expected that Jacques would have a big season but he suffered a bad injury and had a very frustrating time. He is fit again now, he played in Hong Kong and I think he is ready to make a very big impact next season.
