Reserve report

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Jamie Redknapp completed 65 minutes in his latest comeback match as our reserves drew 1-1 against Chelsea at Stevenage Borough FC on Monday night.

Chelsea's young midfield certainly provided a fitness test for the club captain who came through his second reserve outing since knee surgery untroubled.

Indeed, Jamie and Goran Bunjevcevic were the most experienced players on show as two youthful sides battled it out in the cold.

We included a trio of Under-17 Academy players in our starting line-up and Phil Ifil, Jamie O'Hara and particularly Charlie Daniels all showed well.

O'Hara and Daniels were involved early on. O'Hara had the first chance with just two minutes on the clock, forcing a block from visiting goalkeeper Makabu-Ma-Kalambay who was up quick to deny Michael Malcolm from the rebound.

But Makabu-Ma-Kalambay could do nothing as we opened the scoring after 10 minutes. Ifil picked out Daniels at the far post, his shot cannoned off the post to a defender but tenacious Lee Barnard won it back and lashed the ball into the top corner.

Chelsea's five-man midfield saw plenty of the ball though and had the better of the rest of the half.

Most of their good work centred around Mbark Boussoufa who twice linked up with striker Danny Woodards, first crossing deep for Woodards to volley wide and then taking a pass from Woodards only to shoot tamely at Lars Hirschfeld himself.

In-between, Malcolm raced clear but Makabu-Ma-Kalambay blocked well again.

We picked things up after the break as Ifil saw plenty of the ball down the right flank and Daniels volleyed straight at Makabu-Ma-Kalambay.

But Chelsea were always in it and finally got their rewards after 70 minutes. Boussoufa was inevitably involved, his pass found Felipe Oliveira in the box and forced Marcel McKie into slightly too heavy a shove.

Hirschfeld saved Boussoufa's penalty brilliantly to his right but the taker reacted quickly to convert the rebound.

10mins: GOAL. Daniels effort hit the post, Barnard won the ball back before striking into top corner from 16 yards. 1-0.

70mins: GOAL. McKie nudged Oliveira over in the box, penalty awarded, Hirschfeld saved Boussoufa's kick but taker pounced to bury rebound. 1-1.

Line-ups: Spurs: Hirschfeld, Ifil, McKie, Bunjevcevic (Dobson, 61), Kelly, Hughes, Redknapp (Barcham, 65), O'Hara, Daniels, Barnard, Malcolm. Subs: Forecast (GK), Lee, Thyer.
