Reserve reflections

Posted on 14 June 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Clive Allen, reserve team coach last season, offers his thoughts and reflections on the performances of his major players and emerging talent in 2003-04...

Lee Barnard: 19 (5) appearances, 6 goals
Clive Allen: "Lee did exceptionally well and I enjoyed working with him. He has a fantastic attitude towards working on his game, he certainly improved and enjoyed his spell away at Stevenage at the end of the season. I would think maybe a loan next season or breaking into the senior squad has to be his ambition. Top scorer in the reserves, he made progress again and that's what every reserve player has to look at, progress and trying to make the step into the next group."

Goran Bunjevcevic: 12 appearances
Clive Allen: "Goran has been a fantastic professional, no doubt about it. He led by example and is a wonderful footballer, great reading and understanding of the game. When he worked with the younger group and he was in there a number if times this season, he was first class. I can give him nothing but praise and credit."

Rob Burch: 14 appearances
Clive Allen: "Unfortunately I didn't get to work with Burchy as much as I would have liked. There is a lot of potential there. He's quiet but he has an excellent attitude and his concentration and application is first class. The injuries came at the wrong time in terms of pushing for a first team start. He would have been involved throughout and that has to be his aim again next season."
