Reserve reflections

Posted on 15 June 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Clive Allen, reserve team coach last season, offers his thoughts and reflections on the performances of his major players and emerging talent in 2003-04...

Charlie Daniels: 3 (1) appearances, 1 goal
Clive Allen: "Natural left-sided player, good balance, very willing in terms of listening to advice and trying to apply that to his game. He made great strides towards the end of the season and because he's a natural on the left side, he'll have a future. It's up to him to take it on. There is a lack of left-sided players in the country, full stop. He has a wonderful left foot, can deliver crosses and get in there and score himself."

Danny Foster: 5 (2) appearances
Clive Allen: "He's been released but is a top individual. I worked with him in my England youth days when I was coaching and I think he's been unfortunate. He didn't move on as quickly as expected and perhaps didn't fulfil his potential. But there is potential there, I believe he's a player. It might not be at the highest level but I think he will play professional football for a number of years to come. His attitude is first class and I wish him all the luck."

Lars Hirschfeld: 10 appearances
Clive Allen: "Again, he's been released but he has a tremendous character. He's very determined in terms of learning and improving his game and that was the reason he was number two to Kasey at the end of the season. He did well. He has the chance to take his career forward via international football for Canada and I have no doubt that he will play at the highest level."
