Reserve reflections

Posted on 17 June 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Clive Allen, reserve team coach last season, offers his thoughts and reflections on the performances of his major players and emerging talent in 2003-04...

Stephen Kelly: 13 appearances
Clive Allen: "Stephen has started to fulfil his potential. Physically he's more than capable of holding his own in both the Premiership and international football. He used the loan system better than anyone, went to different clubs and wherever he went, he came back with glowing reports on his attitude and the way he applied himself. It's up to him now to try and establish himself."

OJ Mabizela: 15 appearances
Clive Allen: "A quality player. He's a quiet lad but went about his work in the right way. He played how you'd want him to play, aggressive, used his strengths and gave us some outstanding performances at centre-half. I get a sneeking feeling his international position at centre-half is where he's eventually establish himself."

Dean Marney: 21 appearances, 1 goal
Clive Allen: "He was first class. That little group who have come through together have bounced off each other. Dean had the experience of the first team and that gave him the incentive to push on even further and get into that group regularly."
