Reserve reflections

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Clive Allen, reserve team coach last season, offers his final thoughts and reflections on the performances of his major players and emerging talent in 2003-04...

Jamie Slabber: 9 (5) appearances, 4 goals
Clive Allen: "I worked with him for a while when I first came in and he has an eye for goal, no doubt about that. He's still young in terms of his development in the striking position and physically he's strong, he needs to use that to his best advantage. He has the knack of scoring goals and in a striker, that's what you need."

Mark Wright: 2 (1) appearances
Clive Allen: "The success the Under-17s had towards the end of the season was fantastic and you could see that confidence in that nucleus of players. The lads brought one another on with the levels they set themselves. Mark has a wonderful left foot and he's a nice footballer. He understands the game and as he matures and becomes physically stronger, he will become better and better."

Christian Ziege: 8 appearances, 1 goal
Clive Allen: "Obviously he's left the club now but an international quality player and sometimes it's difficult for senior players to come into the reserve group but Christian had a fantastic period for us. He gave his experience to the young group and that's what you look for in senior players. He understood that and did everything correctly and that's all you can ask for."
