Clive Allen was left to reflect on missed chances and two mistakes that led to a first reserve defeat of the season against Arsenal on Monday evening.

In what was a typically hard-fought contest at Stevenage Borough, the visitors won the points with a breakaway goal on 67 minutes through Bendtner and the advantage was doubled 11 minutes later when Lupoli capitalised on a defensive mix-up.

"We had opportunities and I'm pleased with some of the chances we carved out.

We didn't have that cutting edge in terms of making those count and, at this level

"It is the fine line again and the mistakes we made proved costly".

"With the first one we've gone to sleep with our marking and paid the price, while the second one was a catalogue of errors where we didn't deal with a free-kick properly.

"Part of the learning curve is how we bounce back from this now, they are very disappointed, but I can't fault the effort and I'm pleased to say that because we were a team determined to compete and we did I felt in an industrious way."
