Last season's top scorer for the reserves with 17 goals in 17 games struck late to secure the draw at Calthorpe Park.
Eddie Smith picked himself up after a challenge with keeper Tommy Forecast to open the scoring for Fleet after 28 minutes.
It took until two minutes from time for 'Barney' to equalise. Home keeper Justin Gray saved his initial header from Jamie O'Hara's cross but he was there to slot home the rebound.
Coach Clive Allen gave us this rundown. "It was a great work out for us on a tricky playing surface and the lads went about it in the right way.
"We went 1-0 down from what I thought was a controversial penalty decision. The lad got into the box from a diagonal pass, toed the ball past Tommy and went over - there might have been a slight touch but the referee gave the decision.
"We were chasing the game in the second half and had lots and lots of opportunities but it looked like it was going to be one of those days.
"We stuck at it and eventually Barney came up trumps for us with about two minutes left. He got on the end of Jamie O'Hara's cross, the keeper saved his header but he was there for the rebound.
"As I said it was a difficult surface and very hot out there but I was delighted with how we went about it."
