Sixty-three years later and we welcomed Palace for the first time in the Football League. It was a day to remember for a Spurs great as well, as legendary former skipper Steve Perryman, just 18 at the time, scored his first Spurs goal in a 2-0 win in Division One on Boxing Day. Alan Mullery was also on target. That was 'Stevie P's' 15th game - he went on to make a Club record 854 appearances in all competitions between 1969-1986.

Our first hat-trick against Palace as Garth Crooks bagged the matchball in a 4-2 win in Division One on 12 November. The striker hit six goals against Palace in the 1980-81 campaign!
Another first - our first goal in the Premier League, headed home by Gordon Durie in a 2-2 draw against Palace at the Lane on 22 August.

Fredi Kanoute fired home only our second hat-trick against Palace, this time in a 4-0 victory in the FA Cup at the Lane on 3 January.

Jermain Defoe struck home what turned out to be his 143rd and last Spurs goal against Palace at the Lane on 11 January. Christian Eriksen also scored in a 2-0 win. Still scoring goals at Sunderland, 'JD' remains fifth in our all-time goalscoring list behind Jimmy Greaves (266), Bobby Smith (208), Martin Chivers (174) and Cliff Jones (159).
