The winger expects Reading to try and prove a point against Premiership opposition at the Madejski Stadium.
The boot was on the other foot for Andy when he played for Nottingham Forest against us in a friendly at the City Ground almost a year ago to the day.
The Irish international said: “I know what it’s like having played for a First Division side against higher opposition in these friendlies - you want to raise your game and show them that you deserve to be at that level.
“Reading are a good side and as every team from the lower division wants to do when they play a team from a higher division, they’ll want to prove a point.”
The Royals, managed by Steve Coppell, were pipped to a place in the play-offs by West Ham last season — the Hammers were eventually promoted.
“I played them once when I was at Forest last season, we won 1-0 but they are a well organised side with some very talented players,” added Andy.
“It will be a tough game and we have to go about it in the right way.”
Andy Reid knows what's in store when we visit Reading for our latest pre-season friendly on Saturday.
