SECOND PLACE SECURED

Sunday's 2-1 victory against United wrapped up second place in the Premier League, a Club best in the Premier League era, toppling last season's third place.

It's the sixth time we've finished in the top two in the top flight - the old First Division or Premier League - with the last time back in 1962-63.

We've managed 23 top-three finishes since entering the Football League in 1908-09, indeed, we finished second in the old Second Division in our first season.

Top-three finishes since 1908-09:
1908-09 - 2nd in Div 2 (first season in FL)
1919-20 - 1st in Div 2

1930-31 - 3rd in Div 1
1932-33 - 2nd in Div 2

1970-71 - 3rd in Div 1
1977-78 - 3rd in Div 2
1984-85 - 3rd in Div 1
1986-87 - 3rd in Div 1
1989-90 - 3rd in Div 1
2015-16 - 3rd in Premier League
2016-17 - 2nd in Premier League

UNBEATEN AT THE LANE

We've now completed four league campaigns unbeaten at home.

Sunday's win against United saw us finish 2016-17 with a home record of 17 wins and two draws from 19 matches at the Lane.

You can also add four wins out of four in domestic cups matches as we waved goodbye to the Lane in style.

Previously we were unbeaten in the league at the Lane in 1919-20 and 1932-33 (both in the old Second Division) and just once in the old First Division - a crazy season where we were unbeaten at WHL in 21 games, winning 19 and drawing two, but we lost 16 away games!

Two defeats or less from 1908-09:
1908-09 - lost 2 at home in 19 - Div 2 - first season in FL - 19-12-5-2 - promoted in second from Div 2.
1919-20 - UNBEATEN - 21 games in Div 2 - 21-19-2-0
1930-31 - lost 1 in 21 - Div 2 - 15-5-1
1932-33 - UNBEATEN - 21 games in Div 2 - 21-14-7-0
1938-39 - lost 2 in 21 in Div 2 - 14-5-2
1946-47 - lost 2 in 21 in Div 2 - 11-8-2
1950-51 - DIV 1 TITLE - lost 2 in 21 - 21-17-2-2
1956-57 - lost 2 in 21 in Div 1 - 21-15-4-2
1962-63 - lost 2 in 21 in Div 1 - 21-14-5-2
1964-65 - UNBEATEN IN DIV 1 - 21 games - 21-18-3-0 - yet we lost 16 away and finished sixth!

2010-11 - lost 1 in 19 in PL - 19-9-9-1
