Bolton boss Allardyce has stated again that the Premiership remains his priority and that he will make changes from Saturday's league clash at the Lane that his side won 2-1.
Coach Chris said: "As we saw on Saturday and from Bolton's start to the season they've turned themselves into a very formidable outfit.
"They've worked hard, brought in the right players and have a style of play that's very difficult to play against.
"Whatever side they put out on Wednesday night, I wouldn't expect any less a game than what we got on Saturday."
From our point of view, it's a competition we've always taken very seriously and that was reflected in the full-strength squad travelling north this morning.
"It's a very important competition," added Chris. "The prize at the end of it is worth everything beforehand.
"As a club we're not at the stage where perhaps others are where we can afford to take this competition lightly. It's an important competition for us and one we'd like to go all the way in."
Chris Hughton is ready for another tough test against Bolton tonight - even if, as expected, Sam Allardyce changes things around for the Carling Cup tie.
