Teddy departed for Portsmouth in the summer after a two-season second spell at the club and Robbie was quick to praise the impact the veteran striker had on his own game.
"Teddy was a pleasure to play alongside, he's a tremendous player and, the experience he's got and the voice he brings to events was very helpful to me," said Robbie.
"It will be nice to see Teddy but I just hope he doesn't put one past us."
After a bright beginning to the season, Pompey have slipped back of late - without a win in six - and are now in the bottom three. Robbie suspects the lull won't last and points out that most teams have encountered a dip in form.
"Yes they have, but everyone goes on a little run where they can't get a win and Portsmouth are on one at the moment. It's been the same for us in the last week.
"It's going to be a tough game, they work hard for each other. Harry Redknapp is a tremendous manager and he'll have the team right up for it - it's up to us, after a bad week, to go there and hopefully get the three points.
Please note that there will be no Spurs News Online this Friday - Boxing Day - and the online bulletin will resume next week.
Robbie Keane described Teddy Sheringham as a 'pleasure to play alongside' ahead of our reunion with the former skipper at Fratton Park on Boxing Day.
