Reading are renowned for fielding strong teams at reserve level - the likes of Adam Federici, Liam Rosenior, Ulises De La Cruz, Grant Bikey, John Oster, Shane Long and Bobby Convey played in their last outing against Chelsea.
However, Clive Allen expects to field a strong side himself - confirmation of our squad will be published later today - and sees this as the ideal test.
"I'm sure Reading will be very strong again because that's their policy in terms of reserve football," said our development coach. "It's an attractive game for us and possibly as close to a Premier League game as you can get at reserve level."
The Royals are second in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South having lost one game in seven so far. We're fifth, unbeaten Villa are currently top.
Clive Allen expects a high-quality reserve game against reigning champions Reading at Leyton Orient tonight (Monday, 7pm).
