Spurs U17s 3-0 Reading

David Tyrie bagged his first goal of the season alongside a double from Michael Malcolm as Jimmy Neighbour's Under-17s overcame stubborn Reading.

Despite enjoying the majority of possession we had to wait until the half-hour mark to break the deadlock when Malcolm headed home Nicky Wettner's cross.

It was soon 2-0 when Tyrie dispatched Tim Ford's corner after 43 minutes and we were well set.

Malcolm completed the scoring after 62 minutes when he finished off a well-rehearsed corner routine.

Boss Jim reflected: "Reading worked hard, closed us down and denied us space to play and it didn'r really open up until we scored the first goal.

"We had a lot of chances in the second half but overall I thought we did well, worked hard and played well. I was pleased with the performance."

Spurs U17s: Rutherford, Tyrie, McKie (Dobson, 75), Barnett (Seitz, 60), Foster, Black, Noto (Perry, 75), Wettner, Malcolm, Yeates, Ford. Unused: Price, Watson.
