You have to go back to December 4 and a 1-0 loss at Fulham for the lads last outing in the Barclays Reserve League South. That represented the halfway point of the campaign with nine games played and the lads currently sit eighth in the table.
Since then, the lads enjoyed a competitive friendly fixture against Liverpool at Leyton Orient and travelled to Italy for the huge Viareggio Tournament, where they won, drew and lost their three fixtures and went out in the group stages.
"It's been a long wait in terms of league fixtures," said development coach Clive. "We've had the game against Liverpool, the Viareggio Tournament and the lads have continued to work hard in training.
"Now we can focus on a run of games between now and the end of the season and we're looking for consistent performances."
They will take heart from facing a Pompey side that brought the best out of them back in October with a 3-1 win at Orient. "We won that one well and this will be a good game," added Clive. "The lads are very keen to get back into action, they've prepared well for it."
Clive Allen says the reserve squad is raring to go as they step back into action against Portsmouth at Havant & Waterlooville FC tonight (Tuesday, February 19, 7pm).
