Silverlink have informed us of the following amendments to services late-night Saturday and Sunday morning...

Weekend changes to services 12-13 May

Late-night Saturday and Sunday morning services on Silverlink County will be amended as a result of work being carried out by Network Rail between London Euston and Hemel Hempstead during the above weekend.

On Saturday May 12, services will run as normal on all routes until the 23.45 London Euston to Northampton train which will be replaced by a coach service throughout. A special train will start from Hemel Hempstead at 00.15 (Sunday morning) and call all stations to Northampton. In the southbound direction
the 22.42 Northampton to London Euston service will terminate at Hemel Hempstead, with connecting replacement bus services completing the journey to London Euston.

This work will continue on Sunday May 13 and as a result until 12.00, Silverlink County services will run between Northampton and Hemel Hempstead only (calling at intermediate stations). Connecting replacement coach services will run between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston.

The first through train on Sunday will be the 11.23 Northampton to Euston and the 12.09 Euston to Northampton services. The normal Sunday service will then run for the rest of the day.

Travelling times, where part or all of the journey involves bus transfer, will be extended and passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journey.

Two Premier League football matches are taking place in London and one in Watford, all on Sunday May 13. Supporters travelling to the matches of Hemel may wish to delay setting out until the train service is restored. The first through trains will have extra carriages and will arrive in London Euston at 12.52 and 13.14 respectively, in good time for the 15.00 kick-offs. The first through train will arrive in Watford at 12.28.

There will be no through southern trains between Watford Junction and Clapham Junction and supporters travelling to Stamford Bridge are advised to travel via London and use London Underground for their onward journey.

Also until 12.00 Sunday, engineering work will be carried out by Network Rail between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey and as a result the train service will be replaced with a bus service between Watford Junction and St Albans City, calling at all stations. The first train services on Sunday will be the 12.06 from Watford Junction to St Albans Abbey and the 12.27 from St Albans Abbey to Watford Junction.

Unfortunately it will not be possible to carry cycles, prams and bulky luggage on the replacement coach services.

Full details of all Silverlink services, including the altered arrangements for the weekend 12-13 May, are available on the Silverlink website www.silverlink-trains.com or by calling National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
