We had to dig in - Ryan

Ryan Mason lauded the team’s character after getting the job done at QPR.

Leading 2-0 and in control, we were forced to scrap it out and man the barricades somewhat in the final 15 minutes after Sandro pulled a goal back for Rangers.

We held on for a 2-1 win to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League just days after the double blow of Europa League elimination and the Capital One Cup Final loss at Wembley.

Earlier, Harry Kane struck a goal in each half to take his personal tally to 26, his second from Ryan’s assist as we threatened to pull away in our best spell in the second half.

“It was a tough game,” said Ryan. “They made it difficult on a small, bobbly pitch. We showed great character at the end to see it out.

“It’s important to earn the right to play and sometimes it’s not going to be pretty. We had to battle and everyone put their foot in when they needed to. It's positive to see this young side do that.

“We dug in at the end. As a team we worked hard for each other and put our bodies on the line to get the result.

“The squad has been fantastic, we’ve a really good group. Everyone wants to be out there playing as much as possible. The fact that we’ve bounced back with two wins after the cup final is positive and says a lot about our character.”
