Tim Sherwood is looking to build on a positive start in the NextGen Series with PSV up next in Eindhoven tonight (Tuesday, September 27).

The team travel to PSV's De Herdgang training base for their third fixture in Group Four of the all-new European league tournament for Under-19s. Kick-off is 6.30pm local time, 5.30pm UK.

After a draw against FC Basel in their opening fixture, the lads stunned Italian giants Inter with a 7-1 victory last time out at Leyton Orient.

The top two teams from four groups of four progress to the knockout stage in January.

"It's a great experience for these lads to take on top European opposition," said Tim, our Technical Co-Ordinator.

"And if we make it into the knockout stages then it's more top-level games in a tournament environment, so that will be good for their development as well."

Massimo Luongo and Jake Nicholson, who have made their first-team debuts this season, are in the squad alongside Jack Barthram and Alex Pritchard, who were on the bench for our Europa League group opener at PAOK.

PSV have started with narrow defeats against FC Basel and Inter, but Tim insisted that you could never read anything into results.

"You never quite know what to expect," he added. "We will go there, try to play the football we want to play and hopefully win the game."

It's the inaugural year of the NextGen Series.

Sanctioned by UEFA and the FA, the tournament has been established to assist young players in making the transition from youth football to senior level.

The likes of Barcelona, Ajax and Sporting Lisbon are all competing - and have started their respective groups with 100-per-cent winning records.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Villa and Celtic are also involved.
