Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Monday night's draw here with Arsenal left me with two contrasting emotions.
I was proud of the way in which our players applied themselves against a very strong side but also, as I'm sure you were, left shattered by Arsenal's last minute equaliser.
You cannot underestimate Arsenal's strengths. Indeed, just looking at the high quality of players on their bench on Monday evening illustrated the depth of the current squad at Highbury. They have the luxury of men waiting in the wings who can change a game, as Patrick Vieira proved against us.
That’s the quality of player and strength in depth that I would like to acquire here at White Hart Lane.
But our spirit is second to none. We knew that we would have to attack Arsenal, to stop them getting into any rhythm and impose ourselves on them rather than allow them to dictate.
However, in my opinion, their power means that they are second only to Manchester United in this country and you could see that by the way they stepped it up against us in the second half. We defended exceptionally well with Neil Sullivan outstanding and we have to build on every positive aspect from that game because there were so many.
Our two youngsters, Ledley King and Alton Thelwell, coped extremely well in such international company but, although as fierce as ever, the game was played in an extremely sporting manner and that's a credit to both sets of players.
I wasn't happy with their equaliser because I felt that there had been a foul on Les Ferdinand as the corner came over but I accept that, overall, a draw was a fair result.
Both Ledley and Alton will be better for that experience and with Oyvind Leonhardsen and Steffen Freund fit again and others coming back, we are returning to something like full strength. However, that cannot mask our need for new players.
Now we turn our attentions to Middlesbrough who will again provide us with a severe test as they bid to climb away from the relegation area. We played well at the Riverside in August and were disappointed to return home with just one point for our efforts because we certainly had the chances to win.
I would personally like to welcome Terry Venables who has been a colleague and friend for 36 years and who has been a major influence on the English scene in that time. It will be nice to cross swords with him again.
In closing, farewell and thanks to Ramon Vega who has joined Celtic. And welcome to 18-year-old forward Steven Ferguson who has just joined us from East Fife. I wish both all the best for the future.
A happy Christmas to you all from everybody at White Hart Lane. Let's start our busy holiday programme with three points today.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
