Alex Pritchard hit a stunning winner as our Under-18s beat Birmingham City 2-1 on Friday.
The midfielder's 25-yarder into the top corner in the 80th minute secured our young team's first win in the Premier Academy League since September.
It also meant the lads avenged a heavy 6-0 loss against the same team in the away match played just two months ago.
Birmingham started strongly. Jonathan Miles did well to divert Omar Bogle's shot onto the post in the eighth minute but could do little as Daniel Preston powered home a header two minutes later.
Zaine Francis-Angol's burst from left-back set-up Pritchard to fire over as the lads slowly worked their way back into the game.
The equaliser arrived on the half-hour as Francis-Angol arrived just in time to drive low into the corner from 18 yards after good work from Pritchard and Jesse Waller Lassen.
The team took control of the game in the second half. Pritchard and substitute Kudus Oyenuga were just off target before Pritchard's wonder strike handed them a deserved lead.
Jack Munns shot inches wide two minutes later as the visitors were restricted to one serious chance, lashed well wide by substitute Callum Reilly.
