Chris Hughton says you cannot underestimate the job that David O'Leary has done at Aston Villa.
Former Leeds boss and Chris's ex-Republic of Ireland team mate O'Leary took over at Villa Park a year ago.
Coincidently, his first game in charge was at the Lane and our 2-1 victory left Villa struggling at the foot of the table.
But O'Leary steadied the ship and a run of just three defeats in the last 16 games shot his side up to a finishing position of sixth in the Premiership.
"For the period of time he's ben there he's done very well," said coach Chris.
"Villa finished in a very good position last season after he took over and they have certainly continued that.
"It wasn't long ago David was talking about his squad and the fact they needed to bring players in but perhaps that has made them a more stable side and they seem to be reaping the benefits of that stability.
"When you perhaps feel you need a bigger squad you are reliant on not many injuries, they have relied on players coming through a more difficult period and they've done that."
