Chris Hughton insists Sporting Lisbon's friendly win against Manchester United on Wednesday underlines the quality we can expect to face at the Lane on Sunday.
The Portuguese giants topped United 3-1 in America with a double from Joao Pinto and one from Luis Filipe.
They now arrive at the Lane as the opponents for our final friendly before the start of the Premiership next week.
First team coach Chris said: "PSV were very good last week, as we expected, and I think the recent result against Manchester United has underlined what we've thought about Sporting Lisbon.
"You've got to be able to build up in the quality of side you are up against approaching the first game of the season.
"At this stage of the season you expect quality and there is no doubt about that with Sporting Lisbon, particularly offensively.
"You never quite know what sort of side they will field, whether or not they'll make changes, what their pre-season programme is, but I expect them to be very good going forward."
