Michael Brown expects a battle at Ewood Park on Saturday.
We travel to Blackburn on the back of Wednesday's Carling Cup disappointments against Liverpool but at least having beaten Middlesbrough in the Barclays Premiership last weekend.
Meanwhile Blackburn are five matches unbeaten in the league and slowly hauling themselves up the standings.
But both teams are at the wrong end of the table going into the televised clash at 5.15pm and Browny says that puts a little extra edge on the game.
"It's a massive game," said the midfielder. "They are unbeaten in five, improving, new manager and got a great win at Fulham last week but I think we can go and win the game.
"It will be tough, a 100 miles per hour game with everyone wired in and they'll be up for that because when you are at the bottom of the table, that's the way to go.
"We've had extra time this week and they will have been delighted with that but we have to be mentally strong and I'm sure the lads will be raring to go to put it right on Saturday."
