Harry Redknapp had words of praise for Wilson Palacios and explained the midfielder was unlucky to be substituted at half-time in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Everton.
The Honduras international was back for his first start in the Premier League for over a month as we faced the improving, resolute Toffees at the Lane.
However, he picked up a yellow card after just 10 minutes and as Harry pointed out, in such a competitive match, he couldn't risk going down to 10 men.
"I took Wilson off at half-time because he had a booking," said Harry.
"I thought the booking was harsh, but he then made another foul and I thought he if he made one more he might just get sent off.
"He tackles, works, gets close to players and to take that out of his game completely, which I would have had to have done if I left him on, would be difficult.
"So I brought Sandro on and I thought he did okay in the second half.
"Wilson's done great for us since he arrived at the club.
"He brought something to the club that we never really had before, that determination to win the ball back when we lose it and he was a big signing for us.
"He's played a big part for us in the last year or two."
