Dropping slightly deeper off Darren Bent, the skipper was pivotal as we put together wave after wave of attacks at the Madejski Stadium.
Robbie pulled the strings as we created a host of chances but all that possession only led to one goal when he struck after 16 minutes. After four-successive 1-1 draws, thankfully that was enough for maximum points on this occasion and it took Robbie to a personal best tally of 23 in all competitions this season.
"Robbie was magnificent and scored the goal that won us the game," reflected Head Coach Juande. "He’s an intelligent player and plays where the team needs him to play - sometimes that is further forward, sometimes further back and on this occasion he did his job superbly.
"He’s one of the top goalscorers and his performance was tremendous. Not only did he get the goal that earned us the victory, he also played in a position that was very uncomfortable for Reading."
Juande Ramos was full of praise for Robbie Keane after the striker's match-winning display at Reading.
