Juande Ramos had praise for both goalscorers after our Carling Cup win at Newcastle on Wednesday night.
Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jamie O'Hara bagged the goals as we made a positive start to the defence of the trophy with the third round win at St James Park.
Russian striker Roman opened his Spurs account with a header from Aaron Lennon's cross after 62 minutes before Jamie capitalised on a defensive mistake for 2-0 four minutes later.
Michael Owen's late goal proved no more than a consolation for the home side and we'll be in the hat for the fourth round draw on Saturday.
"The goal was very important for Roman and very important for the team," said Juande. "It's not been easy for him, he's only been here two weeks and I hope this will help him.
"He is certainly very happy about it and his goal helped us to go on and win this game.
"Jamie is a player with a good mentality and he played well. He took his goal well and that was an important goal on the night."
The draw for the fourth round will be held at approximately 12.15pm on Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.
