A goalscorer in his first North London derby, Gus claims that nerves are not an issue on one of the biggest dates on the sporting calender and the players just want to be involved on the big occasion.
"I don't think you get nerves - you just want to play as soon as possible," said the livewire Uruguayan. "Everybody wants to be involved, even if sometimes it is easier for us to play at home against Arsenal.
"Playing away gives us the chance to do something really nice for the supporters. Let's see what happens."
Gus went on to explain that particular attention needs to be paid to examining potential ways of negating Arsenal's obvious strengths and attempting to exploit any weaknesses.
"They are a good side who are playing well in the Premiership. We have to look carefully at the game and see where it is best for us to play and to make them work harder than they normally do.
"We need to stop them and make them play a different way - if you look at it there are a few things you can change."
Gus Poyet says Saturday's trip to Arsenal provides an opportunity to do something special for the fans.
