Speaking on Monday at Spurs Lodge, Gus admitted that the players were still feeling the disappointment of Sunday's defeat to Liverpool and reasoned that points-wise we are still not that far away from the Euro-chasing pack.
"The feeling is one of disappointment and a little bit down," he said. "We are asking ourselves too many questions, but that is because it is one day after.
"From now on we have to build up to the game on Monday.
"It is strange, on Sunday before the game we were so close. I was saying to a few players that we are so close, but at the same time, so far.
"We need to put two or three results together soon - now! It has to be now, we cannot make any more mistakes.
"It has to be that, from now on, we get the results and we will see after if we are really close."
Gus Poyet says that is essential that the team now puts a string of positive results together.
