It would be easy to suspect that a equally deserved goal for the striker would have increased his enjoyment, but Postie insists that it is team reward that counts.
"It was very enjoyable - very, very enjoyable," said the 21-year-old with his improving English. "Tottenham were very good and it was very much the team that played well.
"We have good players and got a good result."
The Portuguese international appeared to grow in stature as the game progressed, but he pointed out that there is much more to come as he comes to terms with the nature of English football.
"Yes, my football was there but I need time to adapt. It will not be fast and I need time and patience - with time it will be better, much better.
"I think the next game will be better for me, better for the team and better for Tottenham."
Despite being engulfed in the game, Postie admitted that he did hear the song dedicated to him by the Spurs supporters.
"Yes I heard it and was very happy to hear it."
Helder Postiga was all smiles after his Premiership home debut against Leeds ended in a much deserved win.
