Gareth Bale says the players are in a ‘positive mindset’ ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Brom in the Premier League.

The flying Welshman insists three points is the team’s sole target against the Baggies and stretching our fantastic recent run of eight wins and a draw in our last nine league matches.

Monday’s 2-0 success against Aston Villa lifted us to third in the table and Gareth feels we’ll have to do it all over again in the tough environment of The Hawthorns to keep the pressure on the top sides.

“It will be difficult,” said Gareth. “They are a tough side, especially at The Hawthorns. It will be a test but all the lads are up for it. We’ll prepare properly and try to get another win.

“Our mindset is to be positive and to try to win. The lads are 100 per cent up for it, ready for battle and hopefully we can get another vital three points.

“The most important thing is to try to win and to put the pressure on everyone else.”

Gareth added that ‘no-one is looking too far ahead’ despite talk of title contention creeping in to post-match media after Monday’s latest win against Villa.

“Everyone is concentrating on the next game and every game is vital for us,” he said. “That’s a good mindset to be in and we’ll take that to West Brom on Saturday.

“It’s important we stay focused and we want to go out there and put in another good performance.”
